DESIGN

The industry is losing drive

In logistics and transport, pressure on drivers is higher than ever. Long hours, constant vibrations and driver shortages create serious health risks and rising costs. Musculoskeletal disorders account for 30% of absenteeism, costing billions each year. Many drivers leave the profession early due to physical strain.

Seating plays a critical role. It directly affects health, performance and job satisfaction. Poor support often starts at the pelvis, leading to misalignment of the spine and increasing strain throughout the body.

The road ahead

CoverWorks addresses this in the design phase by focusing on the driver first. We ask three key questions: how to support long hours, how to fit every body, and how to create a future-proof solution.

Using a vacuum bag, each driver’s posture is captured and translated into a precise 3D-printed seat inlay. This improves posture, distributes pressure and creates stability. The inlay is not tied to one vehicle, making it transferable, scalable and sustainable.

  • 30% of annual absenteeism is caused by musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs)
  • €2.86 billion annual cost of MSD-related absenteeism
  • 80%+ of these costs can be reduced by eliminating posture-related issues
  • €2.44 billion potential yearly savings across the industry

DEVELOP

Steering towards the prototype

In the development phase, design becomes tangible. Digital 3D models guide the creation of physical components using CNC cutting, stitching and 3D printing. The open 3D-printed structure improves ventilation, reduces moisture, maintains shape and absorbs vibrations. This creates a more stable and comfortable driving experience.

Taking a test drive

Prototypes are tested in real driving conditions. We measure pressure distribution, posture, vibration response and thermal comfort. Support zones are fine-tuned, softer where needed, firmer where stability is key. Validation with TU Delft and professional drivers confirms the impact: more comfort, less fatigue and improved focus. Drivers also report better temperature regulation.

Nearing the finish line

Through continuous testing and feedback, every detail is refined. The result is a Custom Driver’s Seat that performs in daily use, combining ergonomics, precision and measurable improvement.

Invest in yourself. Take your seat with you.

DELIVER

Engaging all engines

When prototypes are validated, production moves into full motion across our facilities in Europe and Asia. This is where industrial precision blends with skilled craftsmanship, turning every refinement from the development phase into a high-performing Custom Driver’s Seat that delivers.

A look through the windshield

The impact is clear. Drivers experience fewer physical complaints, more comfort and greater alertness. Fleet managers see smoother onboarding, fewer issues and more consistency.

Better seating extends driver careers and reduces absenteeism. It supports both people and performance, making it a social and economic investment.

A feat for every fleet

The system adapts to all vehicle types. Because the inlay is transferable, drivers can use their personal seat across different trucks. This creates flexibility for drivers and efficiency for companies.

Organizations benefit from a single, reliable solution that improves consistency, simplifies operations and supports performance across the entire fleet.

A trip to remember

A CoverWorks Custom Driver’s Seat is not a standard chair. It is the result of the full D3 journey: designed around the driver, developed with precision and delivered for daily performance.

The result is seating that fits, supports and lasts. So your employees won’t just drive, they’ll thrive.
